World Telecommunication Day 2012 and World Information Society Day 2012

World Telecommunication Day has been celebrated annually on 17 May since 1969. The 17 May marks the anniversary of the signing of the first International Telegraph Convention in 1865 and the creation of the International Telecommunication Union( ITU ). 

The purpose of World Telecommunication and Information Society Day ( WTISD ) is to help raise awareness of the possibilities that the use of the Internet and other Information and Communication Technologies ( ICT ) can bring to societies and economics as well as ways to bridge the digital divide.

In November 2005,the World Summit on the Information Society called upon the UN General Assembly to declare 17 May as World Information Society Day.

MAY 12 : INTERNATIONAL NURSES DAY 2012

The International Council of  Nurses (ICN) has celebrated the International Nurses Day every year on May 12 as it is the birth anniversary of Florence Nightingale.The International Council of Nurses is a federation of more than 130 national nurses associations and representing more than 13 million nurses worldwide.ICN was founded in 1889 and is the world's first and widest reaching international organization for health professionals. ICN  work to ensure quality nursing care,the advancement of nursing knowledge, presence of respected nurse profession globally and a competent and satisfied workforce.The ICN celebrates this important day every year with the production and distribution of International Nurses Day (IND) kit.

Florence Nightingale was a English Nurse born on May 12,1820 and she came to prominence for her pioneering work during Crimean War in 1854 where she tended to wounded soldiers,improved the deplorable conditions of wounded and dramatically reduced mortality rates among soldiers.

May 8 : WORLD RED CROSS DAY 2012 - Birthday of Henri Dunant

Every year on May 8,the International Red Cross and Red Crescent Movement marks World Red Cross and Red Crescent Day. The day is extremely significant for the red cross, as it is the birthday of founder HENRI DUNANT. The International Committee of the Red Cross ( ICRC ) founded in 1863 in Geneva,Switzerland by Henri Dunant. It is 25 member committee with an unique authority to protect human life and health and also to prevent and alleviate human suffering without any discrimination based on nationality,race,sex,religious beliefs or political opinions. The ICRC was awarded Noble Prize on three occasions in 1917,1944 and in 1963. Now the International Red Cross and Red Crescent Movement reaches 97 million volunteers,members and staff working together with an aim to protect human life.

AP EAMCET 2012 INSTRUCTIONS TO CANDIDATES

All the arrangements are completed and set ready for AP EAMCET 2012 examination which will be held on May 12,2012 said by EAMCET Convenor Sri Acharya N.V.RamaRao  and also given instruction to the candidates

Instructions to Candidates:

1. Candidates should reach the exam centre 45minutes before the commencement of the examination
2. Candidates should not be allowed to the exam centre atleast 1minute late.
3. Candidates should bring their Hall Ticket and Online Application form pasted with candidate latest passport size photo attested by Gazetted officer along with candidates signature on the application from.
4. Candidates should bring Ball Point Pens,Sharper,Eraser only and pencil will be supply at the examination centre.
5. Candidates should not bring Mobiles,calculators or any electronic instruments.
6. SC/ST candidates should bring their xeroxed caste certificates along with HALL Tickets and Online application form.
7. Candidates should handed over the OMR sheets,Question Booklet Datacard to the Invigilator after completion of the examination and only Question booklet shall carry along with candidates.

AP EAMCET 2012 hall tickets can download from April 26,2012 to May 12,2012 from www.apeamcet.org.Students should enter their Registartion Number and Qualifying Examination Hall Ticket Number (Intermediate 2nd year hall ticket number) for downloading the EAMCET hall ticket 2012. Students those who applied for both Engineering and Medical stream are requested to download both stream hall tickets by selecting the stream one after the other.Students should bring Filled-In application form along with your EAMCET hall ticket to the exam centre.
